Sunday Morning Bible Classes 9:15 – 10:15 am | Every Sunday
A variety of Sunday morning studies focusing on books of the Bible, Biblical themes and other issues of faith are available throughout the year.
On the first two Sundays in June we watched a new Concordia movie called A Man Named Martin, as an introduction to this study, with discussion led by Pastor Beck and Martha Lenthe. The remaining seven sessions are being led by Pastor Ron Lavin on the theme Luther: Man Between God and the Devil. The following are the topics of discussion:
June 18—Luther: Faithful Witness on Baptism
June 25—Luther: Faithful Witness on the Lord’s Supper
July 2—A Comparison Between Luther and Roman Catholic Beliefs
July 9—Luther on Alien Righteousness
July 16—Luther on the Theology of the Cross
July 23—Luther on Depression and the Joyful Exchange
July 30—Luther on Faith, Works and the Word
Church library books are available on these and many other Reformation topics. The emphasis on Luther and the Bible is part of the 500th anniversary celebration of the Reformation at Faith Lutheran.
Come one, come all. Attend as many of the sessions as you can. Each class, while related to all the others, stands on its own. We hope that more and more people will take advantage of the opportunity to attend Sunday morning adult classes and learn about the deeper meaning of our faith.
This study reviews the basic teachings of the Christian faith. It includes an examination of the key Bible texts that address issues including the purpose of the Bible, who Jesus is and what He has done for us, the work of the Holy Spirit, prayer, baptism and Holy Communion.
Upon completion of the class, non-members will have the opportunity to become a member of Faith Lutheran Church, if they desire to do so.
Go beyond the Small Catechism to study more in-depth why we believe what we believe.
