Mrs. Hillary Gebhardt holds a BSED in Early Childhood and Reading Education from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. While living in Georgia, Mrs. Gebhardt taught all-day kindergarten for one year. The other four years were spent teaching fourth grade and SIA/REP for third through fifth graders. Upon moving to Bloomington, she worked for MCCSC as a substitute/long-term leave teacher for five years. For several years, she was a stay-at-home mother to her daughter, Lily, who attended preschool at Faith Lutheran Preschool before entering kindergarten. She taught the three-year-old preschool classes here at Faith before transitioning to the Pre-K class.
Mrs. Meghan Faulkner holds a BS in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences from Purdue University and a BS in Elementary Education and Special Education from Vincennes University Jasper Campus. Meghan worked in the Mitchell Community schools for one year as a Speech Therapist and two years as a Special Education teacher in the Emotionally Handicapped room. Mrs. Faulkner is married to her wonderful husband JD, and is now a part-time stay-at-home mom for her daughter Sarabeth. She enjoys playing softball, singing, crafting, and enjoying time with her family. Mrs. Faulkner is thrilled to be teaching the Pre-K class at Faith Lutheran Preschool, and loves that her daughter is excited to be at Faith’s Christian Child Care.
Mrs. Cara Huss teaches multi-aged preschool. She has been associated with Faith Lutheran Preschool and Christian Child Care since its opening twenty years ago, first as a parent then for the thirteen years as a teacher. She is a 1988 graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Biology from the honors track. Her classes feature highly individualized curriculum to make sure each student is challenged. She also teaches Science to all the preschool classes each week. She is very passionate about education and feels very blessed to be laying the foundation for life long learning in the rich religious and academic tradition of the Lutheran church.
Mrs. Carrie Allen began working at Faith Lutheran Preschool in the spring of 2007. She is an aide in all the preschool classrooms.
Mrs. Rachel Stults has worked at Faith Lutheran Preschool since January 2003 and has been the child care coordinator since August 2005. She started babysitting when she was 11 years old and applied her skills to various church organizations in her vacation bible school programs and nursery needs. She worked at Hoosier Courts preschool in college and was a nanny and babysitter throughout her time at the IU School of Education. Mrs. Stults is from Fort Wayne, Ind. In 1996, she married her husband, Rick. They have three children, Isabel, Haley and Drew. Her current hobby is watching her children’s activities.
Mrs. Tammy Cory works with the infants and toddlers. She has been working at Faith Lutheran Preschool for nine years and loves her job. Mrs. Cory has been working in child care for about 20 years and has never worked at a more loving, clean, safe and organized daycare. She says it is all about family at Faith Lutheran Preschool and the relationships the teachers have with the parents are just awesome! Mrs. Cory has been married for almost 17 years to her husband, Adam. They have three beautiful children – Amanda, who studies Zoology at Ball State; Makinna, her archaeologist; and her son, Reid, who plays, lives and breathes hockey. Mrs. Cory’s hobbies are reading, gardening, hiking, hockey, family history research and just being lazy with her kids.
Mrs. Charlotte Taylor has worked at Faith Lutheran Preschool for six years taking care of Lambs and Bears. Before joining our staff, she worked in a church child care center in Carmel, Ind. Prior to that, she was the director of Parent Time-Out Program at a church in Geneva, Ill. Mrs. Taylor has a wonderful husband and two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking, reading, walking her dog, and playing games and cards with friends and family.
Mrs. Cathleen Mullis has worked at Faith Lutheran Preschool since August 2010 and in the child care field since 2004. She has completed 18 credit hours at Ivy Tech in general studies and is currently attending Vincennes University Jasper County. She is married and lives in Bloomington, but grew up in Springville, Ind. She loves to be outdoors, riding 4-wheelers, boating and camping with her family and spending time with her three young children. Mrs. Mullis highly recommends Faith Lutheran Preschool for your child. Her daughter attends and loves the program.
Note: Every year our staff completes 15 credit hours of continuing education through the State of Indiana approved Childhood Connections Program, First Aid, CPR and Universal Precautions training sessions. All staff members have also been drug tested, fingerprinted and screened according to State of Indiana regulations and Faith Lutheran Preschool guidelines.
